Well, the answer is fairly simple, if your client machines have the Configuration Manager client installed on them then you can extract the remote tool from your ConfigMgr server (or another console installation) and give this to your first line techs. So, how do you do this Permissions Before you do anything, you need to ensure that you add the user accounts of the techs you want to give access to remote control tools into the Remote Tools Operators role based security group in the Administration workspace in the ConfigMgr console as per below: Required Files Once you have given out the correct permissions, you then need to extract the files from either a machine with the ConfigMgr Console on it or the main server. You should go to the location where you installed your ConfigMgr Console, for the purposes of this guide we will use the default location which is: programfilesMicrosoft Configuration ManagerAdminConsolebini386 This location is where the files you require are, you should then find and copy to a new folder on your machine the following files in this location: 00000409 (this is a folder copy the entire folder) cmrcviewer.exe rdpCoreSccm.dll Once you have these in a new folder and you have named your new folder appropriately (i.e.
ConfigMgr Remote Tool) then you can copy this to a USB drive or to any first line tech machine and simply run the cmrcviewer.exe file to start the remote tool. This week another release of SCCM Technical Preview hit the streets. Sccm Remote Tools Without Console How To Do JustIn this post I will walk you through how to do just that, and show you how to add the Adobe catalog for Acrobat Reader DC to Configuration Manager and thus allowing us to deploy updates for Adobe natively without using SCUP. Do so by right clicking on it and selecting Subscribe to Catalog. I have taken snips of each steps and highlighted the required actions. Note: This is exactly the same process as when subscribing to the built-in HP (Hewlett Packard) catalog. Sccm Remote Tools Without Console Software Updates InAll software updates in this selection are expired or meta-data only, and cannot be downloaded. Basically, Adobes catalog needs to support the new feature in SCCM. Also, this post is based on a Technical Preview of SCCM and I just grabbed a random Adobe catalog to showcase how the feature works. You can see the new feature in action and working in this post: Finally, Im afraid I havent been following up on Adobe catalog URLs, but a good guess is that it changed and you will have to use another URL. ![]() I go and do that and it looks like its downloading and completed, but when i go to create a software update group it says its just metadata. It will do the trick and make all published 3rd party updates downloadable. There were added before in scup and were working good After i have add them in sccm the updates do not to show in all software updates. Flash updates are showing the correct required numbers of client that need the update. ![]() Once it deployed it will get installed for all users or for those users only having that application installed.
